"Running Grass" is an abstract linocut print of overgrown grass with dandelions by Berkeley artist and printmaker Hannah Skoonberg. In this handmade print, Skoonberg has painstakingly carved this image into a block of linoleum using small tools. She then printed it three times onto the same thin Asian paper in dark green, light green, and yellow ink. This process is called a reduction print and it creates a multi-colored print.
The print pictured is #5 out of an edition of 12. It is signed on the back of the print in the lower right corner.
This piece measures to 18" x 24" unframed. Framing options are available if desired, contact Colibri Art & Framing for additional information.

Her work considers themes embedded in ideas of landscape and a feeling of place. Her most recent work has been focused on non-traditional landscapes such as the tangled thicket or the overgrown lawn. How does our understanding of the landscape change when it is not welcoming or a space that the viewer can easily enter?
