Plein Air Exhibition
Fall 2022
Colibri Gallery held its 2nd Annual Morgan Hill Plein Air Paint Out last October, where 13 award-winning plein air artists were invited to paint Morgan Hill and other scenic locations within a 10-mile radius from the gallery. Over the course of two-days, paintings were created, hung and judged for prizes. The honorable judge for this exhibition was Bay Area Pastellist, Kim Lordier.

30% of proceeds made from this event were to be donated to local 501(c)3 non-profit, 6th Street Studios & Art Center for their children’s art programs. In December 22, 2022, Colibri Gallery successfully raised $2345.00 for the non-profit.

About 6th Street Studios & Art Center
6th Street Studios & Art Center ( The Studios,) is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Gilroy, CA, that began as the community outreach and performance arm of Gallery 1202 in the end of 2019. Founder, Emily McEwan-Upright, organized culturally significant performances like Flamenco, Latin Dance, Jazz, and Choir to be affordable and accessible to the local community, along with hosting holiday boutiques and fair booths for local artists. In 2021, McEwan-Upright found a permanent location for the organization and officially formed 6th Street Studios & Art Center at 64 W. 6th Street in downtown Gilroy.
