Workshop Proposal Guidelines

Colibri Gallery is now accepting art workshop proposals! We are looking for individuals that are interested in teaching/leading workshops, presentations, or trainings that engage artists and community members with technical art skills and resources to professional development opportunities. 


While we would love to accept all workshop proposals, we are only able to accommodate 2D art workshops. Below is a list of the workshops that we are particularly interested in.

  • Abstract Painting [ Beginning - Advanced]

  • Beginning Oil Painting

  • Children's 2D Art Classes [ ages 8 - 12 ]

  • Collage

  • Digital Media

  • Digital Photography

  • Drawing/ Illustration

  • Life Drawing/ Painting

  • Plein Air Painting

  • Printmaking

  • Watercolor/Ink

  • Textiles

Professional Development Workshops for Artists

  • Artist Grant Writing

  • Social Media for Artists

  • Art Statement/CV Writing

  • Online Portfolios

  • Art History Lectures 


Proposal Descriptions and Details

Please carefully review all proposal guidelines prior to submitting. 



  • Must be 25 years of age or older

  • Must be a professional artist

  • Must have previous teaching experience in the arts

  • Must live within 150 miles of Morgan Hill, California

Please Include the Following in Your Proposal

All written material must be submitted in a pdf. Images can be attached to email separately.

  • Title of Workshop

  • A cohesive 300 -500 word description of the workshop topic, fundamentals that will be taught, and what students will take away by the end of the workshop. 

  • Workshop length [ 1 day, two day, etc...]

  • Hours per workshop day

  • Student Age Range

  • Minimum and Maximum class capacity

  • Will you provide art materials? Or will you provide a materials list?

  •  Desired price per person? 

  • Brief 3-5 sentence biography

  • Teaching CV

  • Instagram profile name and website 

    • We have found that having an active social media presence is helpful for instructors to attract students. ​

  • High Resolution Headshot

  • Up to 4 high res photos of art workshop examples
