I am an artist known for my  luminous paintings and prints of natural forces. I am fascinated by the most abstract qualities of landscape–storms, clouds, brushfires, and water ripples. A survey of my graphic works, Moments of Change, opened at the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art at the University of Richmond, October 2009 and traveled to the University of Arizona Museum in Tucson, 2011.

Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include: Trees are Poems that the Earth Writes upon the Sky, Kenise Barnes Fine Art; Summer Blooms, Chicago Art Source; Another Garden, Wave Hill, Bronx, NY; and White Light at Addison/Ripley Fine Art in Washington, D.C.   Galleries throughout the United States represent my work including: Addison-Ripley, Washington, D.C.; Chicago Art Source, Chicago, Illinois; Kenise Barnes, Larchmont, New York; and Allyn Gallup, Sarasota, FL. I am the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Award, the Warren Tanner Award and the U.S. Fulbright Specialist Program. In 2000, I was invited by Golden Artist Colors to lecture about my work for the Turner Colors Series to art schools and universities throughout Japan. My work is represented in over 500 collections worldwide including: The New York Public Library, New York; The Zimmerli Art Museum, Montclair Art Museum, New Jersey; Palmer Museum, Pennsylvania; Museum of Art at the University of Arizona, Tucson; and the United States Embassy Collections, Brazil, Cambodia, Croatia, Jamaica, and Peru.

For the last twenty-five years, I have made a living from my studio practice and am a popular motivational speaker on the challenges of sustaining a successful career in the visual arts. I am the author of The Artist’s Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love, Da Capo Press, 2009.
