This paper marbling class includes 4 hours of instruction and hands-on learning by a professional artist as well as ALL the materials and supplies you will need to make at least 10 sheets of beautiful marbled paper. After this class, you will be able to create marbled papers on your own at home!
Enjoy an afternoon of creative play exploring the art of marbling on paper. Artist Roberta E. Laine will show you how to prepare the special carrageenan (thickened water) bath, how to alum coat papers, and how to mix liquid acrylic pigments. You will marble in a tray on a variety of colored papers sized at 11"x14". You will learn classic patterns, how to create color harmonies, and then you will be free to experiment on your own! Roberta will also show you some things you can do with your marbled paper. By the end of class, you will have 10-15 marbled papers to use for stationery, bookcovers, gifts, and artwork, and the experience to marble at home.
