After five fun-filled and wildly experimental years, we’re now ready to merge our artists, managers and workshops from Colibri Gallery to our beautiful new gallery, Cura Contemporary in downtown Morgan Hill. CURA Contemporary is located in the Edes building at the southwest corner of 2nd Street and Monterey Road in downtown Morgan Hill.

This transition will include a variety of artists: Don Weller, an award winning watercolorist focusing on the American West; Terri Ford, a world-renowned contemporary landscape pastelist; Jackie Battenfield, an artist and author known for her luminous botanical paintings on mylar; Cameron Bailey, an artist and printmaker specializing in water-based woodblock printmaking; and Thomas W. Schaller, an award-winning watercolorist, architect, and author based in New York City.

Colibri Gallery began in November 2020, opening during the pandemic, and from the beginning we were bolstered by the support of our local community and artists. Our time operating Colibri Gallery has been invaluable, providing crucial insights that have significantly shaped Cura Contemporary. We are looking forward to all the ways CURA will benefit and serve our community of artists, collectors, and art appreciators. We are grateful to all our artists, friends, and supporters for making Colibri Gallery such a special place! Your support has been incredibly meaningful, and we thank you wholeheartedly. We sincerely hope Colibri Gallery has provided lasting value for you, and helped inspire a deep appreciation for creative expression.

We are excited to bring many of Colibri's artists to CURA, where their work will gain visibility. These new artists will introduce a wonderful variety of artwork to Cura, including western art and plein air painting. We are also thrilled to announce that Abigail Dunnivan, Colibri's Gallery Director, will be joining the CURA team in a new role. She hopes you will visit her there!

It is a wonderful time for the arts in Morgan Hill, and the community is growing stronger by the day. For those who would like to stay in touch, you will be automatically subscribed to Cura Contemporary’s newsletter to receive news of upcoming exhibitions, art classes, and gallery events. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support over the years and we invite you to visit us at CURA!
