Golden Kowhai in the Wind with Smokey Quartz Earrings - Cynthia Nge

Created by French jeweler, Cynthia Nge, this luxurious pair of earrings were inspired by the Kōwhai, a small legume tree native to New Zealand. Birth directly from her collection ‘Field Guide from the Antipodean’ that she made for the 2019's Parcours Bijoux / Contemporary Jewellery Festival in Paris. This dazzling pair was purposefully designed to fall naturally with some movement. 

All petals and segments are handcrafted, textured, hammered, pierced, drilled and soldered individually from sterling silver and paired with Smokey Quartz. Then entirely plated with 18k gold aka Vermeil with more than 2.5 microns.

  • Originally from New Zealand, Cynthia Nge lives and works in Marseille, France. 

    Her handcrafted jewelry is understated and timeless, and challenges the notion that jewelry should be glitzy and flamboyant. New ideas and techniques are introduced in a regular basis, producing an eclectic and perpetual line that often utilizes movement.

    Her love of antiques and nature resonates in each piece. Her Franch flea market finds including, antique buttons, mother-of-pearl coins, engraved knives and vintage steel stamps often become part of her jewelry.
