"Watch Me" is an oil figure painting on stretched canvas created by Bay Area artist Samantha Buller. This piece depicts two young girls in lavendar and yellow ruffled swimsuits joyfully running through green grass carrying their neon hula-hoops. A variety of colors are present in this piece ranging from warm tones of yellow, orange and peach joined by cool tones of green and lavender. Watch Me- Samantha Buller
Samantha Buller received her BFA in painting from the Academy of Art University San Francisco and now paints full time in her home studio in Northern California. Her work reflects the beautiful light and modernism that is found in the area. Samantha's artwork is striking, happy, and experimental. She utilizes imaginative color layering and lively brushwork to invite a fresh take on familiar, commplace objects. She is inspired by the art of the late Wayne Thiebaud, especially in his paint application, color pallet and composition. Buller is also inspired by the artis Raimonds Staprans for his layering techniques. .Samantha studied a semester abroad in Italy, which greatly influenced her love and passion for art.
Buller's work has been shown in the Hall of Justice downtown San Francisco, in businesses and several galleries, as well as on the set of a prime time television show. Samantha was named as one of 2013s young artists to watch by Southwest Art Magazine.
